Van Cleef & Arpels has released its new Alhambra four-leaf Lucky collection, featuring a motif that expresses the blessings of luck. Since its introduction in 1968, the Alhambra collection has continued to evolve, creating a rich mix of materials, a variety of functions, and motifs of varying sizes.
This year, the collection’s elegant new look was created by the family’s brilliant blue gold cutout and deep blue agate, which adorned Sweet Alhambra watches and Vintage Alhambra reversible rings, together with blue agate pendants and earrings.
First inlaid with blue agate in the Alhambra Four-leaf Lucky collection in 1989, it is excellent in terms of flawless clarity, vivid color and glossy surface. In order to create a harmonious and harmonious effect, the craftsman carefully pairs each four-leaf lucky theme pattern. The transparency of the stone presents a natural subtle difference, giving the work a unique charm. Each motif is surrounded by gold beading, highlighting the bright contrast between the yellow K gold and the deep blue agate.
The introduction of the Alhambra four-leaf lucky series has repeatedly changed the way of wearing everyday jewelry. In 2023, the family launched the Vintage Alhambra reversible ring. This year’s new work is decorated with a guguo carving with beautiful diamonds in yellow gold and blue agate on both sides, and both sides are decorated with exquisite round beads, which echo the aesthetic elements of the series. Its movable hinge ensures that the theme pattern can be turned steadily and smoothly, and the inner ring holds the finger gently with a semicircular gold ring, which is comfortable to stick on the skin. The surface of the Guet cutout is decorated with a closed set diamond, the height of which is carefully considered to ensure the comfort of wearing, while losing the brilliance of the diamond.
Sweet Alhambra was introduced in 1998, and the new watch follows the aesthetic style of the watch through 15 processes, including strict gemstone selection, delicate material pairing, careful gemstone setting, and rigorous movement and dial mounting. The four-leaf lucky theme pattern is surrounded by gold round beads, and the delicate structure is handmade by jewelry artisans, as if placed in a precious and elegant jewelry box. The rounded claw is precisely bent to echo the rounded outline of the gold bead, showing a harmonious beauty. The final polishing process is the icing on the cake for the work, blooming a beautiful bright streamer.
Luck is a value that Van Cleef & Arpels has always cherished and is one of the sources of its creative inspiration. Jacques Arpels believed that jewelry was a good luck charm, and he would pick four-leaf clovers from his garden and give them to his family’s employees, along with a short poem in English called “Don’t Quit” to encourage them to have hope.
